We are happy for any kind of feedback that you might have for our PC-Builder Tool (https://www.cgdirector.com/pc-builder/).

- Found a weird Build or strange pricing?
- Do some combinations not make any sense?
- Do you have some Ideas how it could be further improved (Features)?

Let us know!

Thanks! :)

I like the PC Builder Tool, it is really useful to have, I don't know how much this would take to implement but two things I think would make it better:

1) Remove the sliding price bar and let users add in their price, it can get annoying sometimes when it won't stop at the right price or even have a price range so you could set say between £1,000 - £1,300

2) Add in the option to add in your own components and then let it build a PC around it, for example, add in your own motherboard and it will build the CPU, RAM, SSD etc

I strongly agree with both of these.
For N°2 I would try to apply it, at least, for processor and GPU. After reading and talking with a some people who's trying to build their PCs I've found that many times those are the first components that they choose and then build the setup around them.

We already added the manual price input. I am not sure about the price range, as we have to tell the tool to aim for a certain price and not a range. Will it use the low-end or high-end of the range to create a build?

As for No.2 I like the idea! It's in development.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! :)

First of all, thank you for this great Tool and excellent work.

Questions:

1. I assume that there is no way to substitute parts since the built was performed, correct? How do I edit components making sure that parts will be compatible?
2. I see all options in Main Purpose but I do not see any gaming option. What if I would like to TRY to build a system with gaming as well as workstation?

Thank you!

The PC Builder tool is made to be mostly automatic, and right now does not have any options to customize the generated list. The build list is already checked for compatibility so there is nothing you have to do in order to guarantee compatibility unless you change one of the components on your own. If you'd like something that lets you customize the build list you can also try out PCPartPicker which is made to do just that. You'll need a bit more knowledge to put together a build there, though.

Because CGDirector is first and foremost for professional users and note gamers, we didn't yet include gaming as a build option. We're looking to add this, though! :) Let me know of any other questions!
