I'm looking for a decent laptop for general web work and some basic video editing, ideally would like (some questions in brackets):

- screen 17" (because of some of apps I use online)
- i7 or equiv. processor (Maybe Ryzen 7 4800?)
- 16GB RAM (8GB is not enough? do I need to bother with difference between 2333 and 2666 etc. ?)
- 500GB+ SSD (M2/pcie - the faster the better)
- reasonable GPU (wary of battery drain)

Price <£1200

Any recommends?

Laptops are tough to find by spec like that. It'd be better if you can check for available options in your price range within your region. That way I can look em over and suggest what would be best :)

I would avoid the Intel ones if at all possible (unless they're much cheaper). That said, the AMD laptop on that list (ASUS TUF) has some heating issues so I won't really recommend it for professional work. Can you find an HP Omen with an AMD processor around you?
