Hi, I've been here before, thx for the help last year and then again thx for this rich-with-info site.
Budget:
Budget is almost 2000 euros but will be available at the first Q4 of 2021. (so essentially i have time for the stock to stabilize)
Workloads:
So far, for main workloads I've been using the usual programs such as ZBrush, Photoshop, 3ds Max (which Max will probably get replaced by Blender) and for a secondary workload I've used Premiere Pro a couple of times. (I've also been getting into Marvelous and Substance recently).
I want the pc to be able to handle the extensive numbers of polygons that I eventually reach, without limiting myself and playing it safe when my machine starts stuttering. I'd love to experiment with different workflows and be at ease that nothing will crash. I want to work with beautiful imagery.. (and whatever a job might throw at me).
Upgrade?:
This is one massive jump from my current low end pc of 5 years, and I'm hoping that the successor will stay with me for a longer period (with obvious upgrades down the line if necessarily needed).
Country to shop:
Greece... but I guess paying 100 plus euros for amazon delivery can be an option...
Build suggestion:
so far, this is my list
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE (with or without WIFI?)
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 or 3080 (when available)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME
(plus I currently have one 860 EVO 500gb)
PSU: Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold
Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 ATX Mid Tower Case
Bear with me, I have questions...:
CPU - I've heard and read that R9 5950x is better for professional workloads, but the price is significantly higher. Would I want to spend extra cash for a R9 5950x with potentially and significantly minimizing the GPU budget? Or is the R9 5900x just fine for my needs?
Motherboard: I want my Motherboard to last in the future, so I went with a x570. Is the one I decided on a good choice or is there a better contender?
GPU: I've seen in another post that the 3070 was recommended, but then again tech youtubers don't really recommend it (although they're probably focusing on gaming). I can wait for the RT 6800XT as well but I'm not sure what to do here. (one of my guilty pleasures is for the system to be able to beautifully run Cyberpunk2077... but that's not a priority.... anyways... MOVING ON)
RAM: I have my eyes on the recommended corsair vengeance, but I've seen in another post that "G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3600cl16" was recommended (plus Trident is aesthetically more pleasing), what do I do here?
SSD: I can aim for a 970 evo as I stated... but maybe I can settle for an HDD to push the budget on other parts. Will that be neccessary?
Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 caught my eye as a beautiful, simple and minimalistic case with good airflow to commend the CPU cooler. The question here is simple.... is it good? :>
That's all from me. If anyone notices that I mispoke or I'm misinformed or If I forgot to mention something important, then don't hesitate to correct me. I'll gladly consider any alternative builds as well.
Thank you for your time! :>
