The last PC I built was 12 years ago, so all of this is kind of new.

  1. Like the title says I mostly need this as a workstation
  2. Not used for gaming
  3. Mostly GPU Rendering, 3d Work, and graphics
  4. Not looking to upgrade in the next couple of years
  5. No RGB needed, Although I would like to keep everything black
  6. I need Wifi and Bluetooth, preferably out of the box inside the motherboard
  7. Trying to keep it around 3000$, and under 2500$ without the monitor

I tried to inform myself as well as possible, but some questions remain:
  • Are the Noctua fans compatible with the case fans?
  • Would you go with water cooling instead of air cooling?
  • Would you upgrade the CPU?
  • Is one SSD better than two cheaper SSDs?
  • Is there anything that could lead to problems down the road?

Thanks in advance for your input!

The build looks excellent to me, see no issues.

As for your questions:
You have space for 2x 140mm fans at the top and 3x 120mm fans at the front. So if you want to swap the fans that come with the case with noctua fans, you should get one 120mm too.

A CPU AIO cooler makes sense for Intel CPUs as they do tend to draw a lot of power and generate a lot of heat during sustained workloads such as rendering.

Generally I'd recommend going with a Ryzen 5900X, though since they are out of stock everywhere, if you need a new PC right now, Intel 10700k / 10900k might be the only choice apart from the older Ryzen gens.

NVME SSDs are better than Sata SSDs. So if you have to decide between two Sata SSDs or one NVME SSD, the single nvme ssd would be the better choice in terms of performance

No issues with the build that I can see.

Can I use the noctua fans and the case fans simultaneously? I checked out some reviews that said front and back fans only are better if using air cooling.

I will switch to a Ryzen 5900x then, the benches seem much better. I'm not in a hurry.
Would you say this is a good motherboard for it Gigabyte B550 VISION D ATX? Or do you have a better recommendation?

2x 1TB NVME vs 1x 2TB NVME makes no difference then? Just go with the cheaper option?

Thanks again!

You can use them simultaneously if you have room for them. If all the slots have case-fans, you can take those out and add the noctua fans.

Yes you can use the B550 with the 5900X, it's a good combo.

Having more physical drives is better, as you gain data protection. The OS/Apps drive could crash and you wouldn't lose any project files if you have two drives. I recommend getting two fast drives: 2x 1tb nvme.
