I'm a student learning Arch Viz and I need a new computer. I use Maya, 3ds Max, V-Ray/Mental Ray and Unreal Engine. I'm a bit confused because I do both modeling and rendering and I wasn't sure what to input into the PC-Builder. My budget is around $1500 USD including a monitor so probably more like $1000 for my PC build. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unreal is GPU-dependent, Mental Ray is a CPU Renderer and V-Ray can do both GPU or CPU Rendering. I'd say you need a nice allrounder that can do everything decently fast. Here's a suggestion:

CGDirector.com Parts List: https://www.cgdirector.com/pc-builder/?=6LGV4

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 3.8GHz 12-Core Processor ($454.99)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 ($89.90)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC ATX AM4 ($174.99)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660TI 6GB - Gigabyte Windforce ($279.99)
Memory: 32GB (2 x 16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 ($114.99)
Storage PCIe-SSD: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB NVME M.2 Solid State Drive ($129.99)
Power Supply: Corsair CX Series CX450M 450W ATX 2.4 Power Supply ($69.99)
Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Black ATX Mid Tower Case ($123.99)
Total: $1438.83

Thanks so much for the response Alex. This looks like it will be a great PC. Now I just have to watch a million YouTube tutorials on how to build it!

Mental ray is no longer supported by Autodesk, it's all Arnold now, which is both CPU and GPU dependent depending on your workflow.

Alex's suggestions are great. You can find similar all in one gaming builds ready to go on Amazon with similar specs and save a few $$.
