Hi All
Have decided to upgrade my AMD 3950x desktop as its about 3 years old now and i`m finding a few tasks i`m doing that i`d like to speed up.
Work i do is 3d modelling, (Autodesk Maya, 3dsmax,blender ) ,texturing (substance , 3dcoat, marmoset toolbag), rendering (arnold, marmoset), CAD conversion/reduction , photogrammetry (capturing reality, Metashape), video editing (davinci, adobe), 2d editing (photoshop), unity & unreal .
I`m looking for something with
motherboards Z790 or X670e depending
64gb DDR5 Ram (4 x 16gb)
3+ M.2 Gen5 slots
2 x PCie GPU slots (currently had 2080TI x 2) , might go to 4080 if price ever comes down.
10Gb ethernet
Thunderbolt but not essential.
I`m favouring the AMD 7950x because it seems that Gen5 M.2 and PCie slots keep full bandwidth when 2 or more m.2`s are fitted. AMD more power efficient than the Intel.
i`m no expert but just wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation wondering what to go for.
Thanks
