I'm going to build one of these. Which build in Your opinion do you think is the overall better Rig? I will be used it mainly for a data crunching workstation but also occasional Gaming?

INTEL BUILD:
Intel 12th Gen i9-12900K ................$ 595
ASUS STRIX Z690-E MB....................$ 349
EVGA RTX 3080ti OC..........................$ 1850
32gb DDR5 4800 mem......................$ 500
Case, PS, M2.2 SSD,cooler................$ 700
TOTAL: --------------------------- $4000

AMD BUILD:

AMD Zen 3 5950X...............................$ 700
GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Mstr..........$ 255
EVGA RTX 3080ti OC..........................$ 1850
GSKILL 64gb DDR4 3200..................$ 399
Case, PS, M2.2 SSD,cooler................$ 700
TOTAL-----------------------------$3900

Ignore any slight price diff......Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

The Intel Build will surely get you some increased performance in many workloads. Personally I would get the AMD build because of the lower power consumption and my build would be on 10-12 hours a day, maybe more if it's rendering over night etc.

Ahh, ok cool. Thx. I run the computer 24/7. I am upgrading from my 2019 i9-9900k build. Intel does seem to run warm/hot. It tends to run warmish (50C) at all times under normal loads (1-20%), and pushes BSOD hot when under full load (90-99C). I can only run it at 4.8Ghz w/ XMP on. Anything higher and it will BSOD on a heavy (100%) CPU workload. The 12900k will prob be similar. Perhaps the AMD will run cooler and not push the temp envelope. Hard to forgo the "increased performance" tho. Reliability is paramount, but How much performance diff do you feel the Intel build offers?

Yep, if it's a 100% CPU workload, AMD is still the better choice. I'd go with the 5950X too as Alex said. The 12900K would be around the same perf at 100% load at much higher power and heat.
