Thank you for taking time to read this and for how helpful this site is! Being a novice in PC building and the software, I wondered:

  • Is photorealistic-ish work like this godzilla or werewolf feasible on a $600 build?
  • Where would you suggest a beginner and hobbyist start to see if they enjoy this type of art creation? (example specs and/or price point would be great)
Budget: $600 - 1200; cheaper is starting to feel like a more reasonable starting point

Main Workloads: Blender - 3d sculpting, modeling, texturing perhaps; Affinity Photo 2 - painting, photoediting, coloring and "rendering" photos of objects made in blender(?); basic video editing (just clipping longer videos - no special effects); Tabletop gaming on Roll20 website

Secondary Workloads: Rstudio for statistical modeling and data management, basic document and spreadsheet work in microsoft word/excel; some Youtube, Netflix, etc. - streaming

Country: USA

Upgrades: Ideally minimal to prevent wasting money on low quality parts / be most efficient, but wonder if spending $1200+ right away might be hasty

The following is a list parts I've considered during holiday sales but am not sure if this wise/excessive. Would a $500 or $600 build from your site be capable of the work in the youtube clips I've posted? Are there any parts in my list that are worth keeping in a cheaper overall build or obviously overkill?

Love the build you've put together. It'll be more than up to the task to run zBrush, Blender sculpts at high res meshes as you linked in the videos, yes.

You might be able to save some money by getting rid of the second storage drive, but good build overall. I'd say go for it!
