Best desktop PC specs for MS Flight Simulator

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020is out, and I’m looking to get a new desktop.
Below is the MS recommended specs, but I’m wondering if there is a better way to analyze price/performance?

  • GPU: Radeon RX 590 / Nvidia GTX 970

  • RAM: 16GB
  • HDD: 150GB
  • Bandwidth: 20 Mbps

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 Pro 2700X / Intel i7-9800X
  • GPU: Radeon VII / Nvidia RTX 2080
  • VRAM: 8GB
  • RAM: 32GB
  • HDD: 150GB (SSD recommended)
  • Bandwidth: 50 Mbps

Hey Jack, it's still early and there might be optimizations coming.

The recommended PC specs will get you somewhere around 30 FPS if playing at 1080p ultra. Dropping settings should help get you closer to 60.
The ideal specs will land somewhere around the 45 FPS region. Here, dropping a few settings will let you get to a steady 60.

That said, it's a flight sim and anything above 30FPS should still be playable as there's no crazy camera movement or fast motion. If you want value for money, the recommended PC specification seems like the best.
