Hello 🙂

At the moment I use C4D/Octane on my iMacPro with Bootcamp Windows partition with a Sonnet e-GPU.
But it's not ideal so I would like to build a "budget" PC for C4D use.
I will start with one GPU and add a second later. And maybe change the CPU later.

What do you think of this ?

CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU : EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 (+ a second one later)
MOBO: MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI
RAM : Corsair 64 Go DDR4-3200
SSD: SAMSUNG 980
CASE : be quiet! PURE BASE 500
PSU : be quiet! Straight Power 11 850W
COOLING : be quiet! Pure Rock 2

If the primary use for your CPU is only within the viewport doing active work, this build should do the trick - no problems!

For the CPU Ryzen 7 5800X could be a better choice ?
The 8-core is usually the sweet spot, so definitely.

For the motherboards after some research the ASUS X-570 Prime Pro could be better ?
Better allocation for dual GPU :2 x PCIe 4.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)

Or for 100€ more the ASUS Pro WS X570-ACE

But since you're now thinking about spending quite a bit more on the platform (CPU + motherboard), you should consider the fact that AMD is launching Ryzen 7000 in a couple of weeks on a brand-new AM5 platform.
Honestly, (if at all possible) I'd wait for the launch to go down and either pick up cheaper Ryzen 5000 parts or build on the new AM5 platform.

I can see the release date for Ryzen 7000 is September 27 so yes I will wait.
Thanks for the info !
