Build for 3D modelling and rendering

Hey, just looking for some advice as I’m looking to get back into 3D animation after a few years. My budget is about $1750 dollars and wondering if this build would be good? https://www.cgdirector.com/pc-builder/?=6MyY3

Ideally this would be used for portfolio work and showing of some digital pieces but I just chose 3D Animation for the build and did not select rendering. My main plan is for character animations through Maya and Blender which would most likely have to be rendered out if I wanted to export as a video clip for portfolio purposes. I’m pretty new to this so any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Yep, looks like a solid build. You can upgrade that power supply to 850W if you'd like to accommodate future high-end GPU upgrades without changing anything else.

PS. The GPU is quite overpriced so I suggest hunting for newer options locally at the $500 price point.

Hi Jerry, how about this configuration, I'll build this for 3D modeling (Maya) and real-time rendering (Octane, VRay, Renderman, Arnold & Redshift), game development (Unreal Engine & Unity) :

CPU: TR3970X
CPU Cooler: NZXT X73
Motherboard: Asrock TRX40 Creator ATX
GPU: RTX3090
Memory : 2x32GB
Storage: 2 x Samsung 980 1 TB
Power Supply: Corsair 1000X Platinum
Case: Enthoo Pro 2

I'm considering in the future I'll put 2,3 or 4 RTX3090 in that configuration and upgrade to 1600W PSU.

Thank's in advance.

Hey, will you be doing any CPU rendering on this machine? Or do you need the extensibility of an HEDT platform? If not, for active viewport work coupled with GPU rendering, a mainstream platform like Ryzen (instead of Threadripper) is usually the better choice.

Hi Jerry, I'm planning this configuration for both CPU and GPU Rendering because of a limited budget. Any suggestion? Thank's for your response, Jerry.
