Hello there, could you kindly advise the best components to build a PC for 3D animation and motion graphics with Ryzen CPU and Nvidia GPU. I want a PC for the next 5 years or so. It can be a motherboard to hold 2 or more GPUs and also lots of RAM to run After Effects. Please, also give me an option for Ryzen Threadripper 3960x as well. Thanks a lot. I look forward to hearing from someone shortly, as I am deciding to buy the components as soon as possible.

Hey Najla, here's a suggested build that would perform well with a single gpu:

CPU: 5900X 12 Core (should be at US$549.00)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black ($99.95)
Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk x570 ATX ($285.40)
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 10GB (should be at US$699.99)
Memory: 64GB (4 x 16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 ($313.13)
Storage SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.99)
Storage PCIe-SSD: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 2TB NVME M.2 Solid State Drive ($249.99)
Power Supply: Corsair RMx Series RM750x 750W Power Supply ($140.53)
Case: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 ($142.99)

And here's a Threadripper build that you could expand to up to 4 GPUs:

CPU: AMD Threadripper 3960X 3.8GHz 24-Core Processor ($1487.36)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 ($79.90)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Designare Ex trx40 ($679.99)
GPU #1: Nvidia RTX 3080 10GB (should be at US$699.99)
Memory: 64GB (4 x 16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 ($290.99)
Storage SSD: Samsung 870 QVO 8TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($893.27)
Storage PCIe-SSD: Sabrent Rocket 2TB NVMe Gen4 M.2 Solid State Drive ($399.97)
Storage HDD: Seagate BarraCuda Pro Compute 10TB, 3.5" ($305.00)
Power Supply: Corsair RMx Series Platinum RM850x 850W Power Supply ($174.95)
Case: Corsair Graphite Series 780T ($197.14)

Hope this helps!

Yeah availability is a real concern currently. There are great parts out there, but it's just too difficult to find them in stock right now :(

Hi Alex!
I'm looking at a pretty much similar configuration to the first one listed. I was considering MSI MEG X570 Unify for the mobo, but see there's a slightly cheaper alternative of X570 Tomahawk. Is there any point spending more on the Unify model?
Thanks!

The Tomahawk is an excellent Motherboard, and has almost the same features as the Unify. For single GPU builds, I can recommend it. The Unify would have x8, x8 config for sli (dual gpus), but other than that, the Tomahawk is a great choice.

Najla, Zotac is dropping nightly at 9:41pm eastern on store.zotac.com. That is the only consistent time to get a 3080, set up account and paypal ahead of time and good luck trying to grab one.
