C4D & Redshift Constant Crashes/Freezing

Hey there. I am experiencing constant freezing with Cinema 4D and Redshift. Sometimes even with a very simple scene. The only way to shut down the application is w/ task manager. Here some technical info:

C4D Version: R23.110
Redshift Version: 3.0.41
Ge Force RTX 3090 (461.40 Drivers)

Any ideas to solve this problem? Really annoying : (

Did you try any of the older Versions? The redshift team introduces bugs into new versions every now and then. What kind of other specs do you have, especially the PSU - what wattage are we working with?

Thanks, Alex, it was working perfectly when I got the computer couple of months ago. Lately just really makes my life difficult since crashes are happening every few actions. What can I do?

Same here mrrobot! I am using the exact same version of Cinema4D and Redshift. Anyone found a fix for this yet?

Same problem! Any updates?? (working on older c4d works but then older troubles with crypto mattes occur)

The best thing you can do is talk to the devs and file a bugreport on the Redshift Forums. They are extremely helpful and usually fix any crashes within the next release (usually every couple of weeks).

Of course, if you haven't already, update Redshift to the latest version and update your Graphics Drivers to the latest version as well.

  1. Disable the Nahimic Service that comes with Realtek audio drivers. Here's the video that I watched to figure out how to do this.
  2. Enable Windows 10 hardware accelerated GPU scheduling - follow the steps below 1.Open Start Menu and tap on Settings cog icon. 2. In Settings, click on ‘System’ and open ‘Display’ tab. 3.Under the “Multiple Displays” section, select “Graphics settings”. 4.Turn on or off “Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling” option. 5. Restart system

I turned off global illumination in render settings > redshift > advanced > globlal illumination and even got less noise in the renders if it helps anyone.
