CGPC-Builder Suggested Build - Shows Compatibility error via PC Part Picker

The recommended PC Build from the CG Director PC-Builder shows "No issues or incompatibilities found" with all the parts it recommended:

But when I put in the parts to PC Part Picker it is coming up with the following:

"Warning! Some Intel X299 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Cascade Lake-X CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."

Can anyone explain what exactly this warning means? I don't understand and want to make sure I'm good to go before proceeding with purchasing any parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hey Zander,
The new CPUs from Intel will POST to BIOS, but you'll need to update the BIOS from that point to boot into Windows with the new 10000 Series processors. Just update to the latest BIOS from that point.

On a side note, you might find higher performance at a cheaper price moving to a Threadripper system. What are your main workloads?

Thank you so much for your response! Please forgive my lack of knowledge/experience. My main workload is editing 4k video in premiere pro.

-- Quick explanation, I've started a video production company similar to Cercle. We film DJ performances in unique locations. In the last 6 months, I bought my first camera (Canon EOS-R) and have been diving headfirst into this world, learning every day.

I've been editing with my 2020 MacBook pro (fully maxed out specs) up until now but the issue I'm now running into is my MacBook Pro cannot handle applying heavy amounts of processing using RedGiant Denoiser III. With denoiser III set at about 90% for "reduce noise, smooth colors & preserve detail" it took 24 hours to export a 5 min video. This video was shot from sunset into night so there is a ton of graininess in the footage. I have the full hour and 15 min performance to export next. (The footage was shot with two cameras. One is C-log 4k 10bit 422 from my Canon EOS-R using an Atomos Ninja V and the second is 4k from my DJI Mavic air 2.) So I'm now at the point where I'm ready to invest in building a powerful PC to be able to handle all my editing needs for the foreseeable future.

The Denoiser is heavily GPU accelerated so you'll get a great speedup by using a strong Nvidia GPU. The 2080Ti is quite good, but if you can get your hands on a RTX 3080, that would be even better. They should hover at around 700$-800$ currently (cheaper than the 2080ti but faster).

The rest of the system might perform even better if pushed into current gen Ryzen direction. The thing is, these new CPUs are so hard to buy currently, because the stock is low.

If you can get your hands on a 5950X, that would be the currently best CPU for Video Editing in premiere pro, especially for active work, better than the 10980XE.

You would need another Motherboard such as the MSI Unify x570 for this cpu, if you decide to go the ryzen route.
