CINEMA 4D and Redshift

Hi Alex

Need your opinion on a build.
I was thinking on a I9 10900x 10 core
With a rtx 3080 for redshift.
But if eventually I want to get a second 3080 and its tricky because it gets really hot and it's not possible for now. Or so I read?
So I am thinking to go with 2x rtx 2070 super instead, which are faster then the 3080 and more or less the same price, and eventually I can get a couple more?

Is this a good option?

Hey Filipe,
Both are valid options. The thing with lower-end gpus is, that at some point you won't be able to fit any more into your case. Usually just a maximum of 4.

If you think a maximum of 4x 2070 supers is all you need in terms of performance, then yes you can go that way.

With 3080s, you can still have multi-gpu setups, but you will need to wait for dual-slot blower style cooled gpu designs to become available. There is one from Gigabyte (Blower) that has been announced, but I don't see it available anywhere yet.

Make sure you get a Motherboard that allows for 4 GPUs (4 evenly spaced slots at dual slot distance).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Alex

Its a hard decision to make.
I wanted the 3080 but its out of stock and I wanted something just as good, in the next week or so.
What about the 3070? Could probably add 2 of those later on?

Thanks again.

Sure, though the 3070 will not launch before the 29th of October. You can try to get a 3080 before that, and if you can't get your hands on one, get two 3070s?

Yes sounds like a good plan.
Thanks
