Cooling Systems

The site has got lots of different topics on all the important topics. But there is one I could not find: cooling systems. I have not seen in any recommended configurations liquid cooling systems or advices on different fans. I heard that there are even many different shapes of propellers in very similar fans and they act completely differently. Alex if you could please right a short topic on PC cooling. (and one more on when the graphic cards madness will end - just kidding).

Yeah, thank you Alex. Because I compared your builds and pre-builds from shops. So they all come with liquid cooling. So it confused me. But also there is huge range of fans as well which is more confusing. And finaly are the stock fans not good enough at all?

Stock fans are OK-ish, but most third party coolers are superior. You can use stock coolers just fine with cpus that run at stock clocks, but you shouldn't expect long boost times or long automatic overclocks when doing heavy sustained tasks.

Fans are the cheapest cooling option to run and have the lowest greenhouse impact; air conditioners are expensive to run and produce more greenhouse gas.

Agreed. You won't want to cool down your entire room just to have a cooler PC.

Case Fans and CPU fans can do a good job of transporting hot air away, replacing it with cooler air. Of course they don't really change the temperature at all, they just move air around.
