Dell Poweredge T30 RAM configuration and upgrade

Our server needs RAM upgrade , and according to the manual [ T30 online manual ][p.67-68], in a 64GB configuration one should use dual rank, x8 Dimms (4x16GB).
Since I'm having a very hard time finding such Dimms online was wondering if single rank would work too.
Are the SR dimms not allowed at all because the system will not function? Does anyone know or have experience with that?

Ranks shouldn't affect functioning, but the type of DIMM will. Make sure you check whether it supports RDIMMs or UDIMMs, ECC or Non-ECC, etc.
