Dual 3090 FE

I recently purchased a PC from Puget Systems. Here are the specs.

CPU= 5950x
GPU= 3090 FE
Ram= 128GB
SSD= 1tb m.2 (boot drive) 500gb m.2 + 1tbm.2
Power= 1200watts

My question is. According to Puget systems this configuration can handle duel 3090 GPUs. But everywhere I look online, it says that the 3090s aren’t capable of doing duel GPU configurations.
So is it possible to run two 3090 GPU’s? And will it help with rendering in octane? Will my 5950x cpu be able to run with two 3090? Cause according to Puget, they’ve run extensive test’s and determined that it definitely is possible.

Sure it's possible. It'll depend on your Motherboard's PCIe Slots and their bandwidth of course, and with a mainstream CPU such as the 5950X you only have access to 16x pcie 4 lanes for gpus on most boards, but even running two 3090 at x8 speeds will usually give you great speedups depending on your scene complexity. If you're going overboard on scene complexity and use a lot of out of core RAM, you'll see more slowdowns vs having your scene fit entirely into the 24gb of vram of each of your gpus. But entirely possible.

my mother board is this one
The Gigabyte X570 AORUS Ultra
“Internally this motherboard has four DDR4 memory slots, supporting up to 128GB of RAM, and six SATA III ports plus three M.2 slots for connecting drives. Five PCI-Express 4.0 slots of various sizes are available to handle a wide range of expansion cards”.

I know nothing about what you said lol!! I know nothing about computers. I don’t know what PCIe lanes are. So with the motherboard I have, what does all that look like. I want to do very complex scenes and not worry about my system slowing down. Now this may be a very dumb question. I’m very new to cinema 4D and I’ve never actually used Octane. So my question is does GPU rendering include exporting the project as well, or does it just mean viewport rendering? And one last question. I greatly appreciate your response too. I want to use my new pc for Using Element 3D. I want to do very complex scene in that well. Will dual GPU’s work with element as well. Thank you.

If the 5950x has 16x PCIe lanes and dual GPU’s will utilize 8x how much does 1 GPU utilize the 16x lanes from the 5950x

To put it in layman's terms: You'll be able to plug in two 3090 GPUs into your Motherboard. Each will run with just minimal throttling in Octane, so, yes, it's worth it!

Element 3D uses OpenGL for rendering and does not support dual / multi-gpu. So for this After Effects plugin you will not see a speedup with two GPUs vs one.
