So I want to build a computer for video editing, and gaming.... most used program will be premiere, after effects for some special effects here and there not too much... my budget would be around 1000-1300$ I have read allot about building your first computer but it gets a bit overwhelming... there are so many choices and I just want to build one that works the best within the budget I have for the things I want to do with it! is it possible to get some advice? best choices? let me know!

FYI when I edit I would like to be able to use photoshop and premiere at the same time for example and also premiere and after effects for some small adjustments or effects, and while having chrome open with a few tabs.. I know AE takes allot more ram.. would I be able to get away with it using 32g? at any giving time it would be nice to be able to run 3 programs so example: Chrome, Premiere, Photoshop or.... chrome, premiere, and after effects.. etc.

Thanks.

Hey makaveli,
Take a look at the following build which should fit your budget and workloads well:

CGDirector.com Parts List: https://www.cgdirector.com/pc-builder/?=6LEZU

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 3.9GHz 8-Core Processor ($339.99)
CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism Cooler (Included with CPU) (-)
Motherboard: MSI B550-A Pro ATX AM4 ($149.00)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660TI 6GB - Gigabyte Windforce ($279.99)
Memory: 16GB (2 x 8GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 ($68.99)
Storage SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.99)
Storage PCIe-SSD: Crucial P1 1TB, M.2 Solid State Drive ($94.49)
Storage HDD: Seagate BarraCuda Compute 3TB, 3.5" ($73.09)
Power Supply: Corsair CX Series CX550M 550W ATX 2.4 Power Supply ($79.99)
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case ($99.99)
Total: $1305.52

Although having lots of different storage devices for video editing is great, you can save some money and start out with one storage devices such as the PCIe SSD, and get double the amount of RAM with the money that is then freed up.

That would get you 8 high clocking cores, 32gb of RAM and a decent GPU + fast storage, which will perform nicely across the board.

Cheers,
Alex
