I want to upgrade my computer for BLENDER

I have had a pretty solid computer for about 3 years now, but I am trying to make a movie, and I am starting to discover its limitations.

I'm hoping to specifically use EEVEE, but am open to Cycles, if there is a way I can get it to be even close to as efficient as EEVEE (from my understanding, Cycles can use multiple GPUs, and EEVEE can't?)

I have about a $1,500 budget to upgrade, and wanted to know what direction I should go.

I was hoping somebody could give me some advice on what I should upgrade first. Here is my current build:

  • Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Quad-Core 4.2 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80677I77700K Desktop Processor
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 220-G2-0850-XR 80+ GOLD 850W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, 08G-P4-6286-KR, 8GB GDDR5X, RGB LED, 10CM FAN, 10 Power Phases, Double BIOS, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC)
  • MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON LGA 1151 Intel Z270 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Memory Kit Model CMK16GX4M2B3000C15
  • Team T-Force Vulcan 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000

I hope this makes sense! Hopefully someone can help me out. Thank you all for your help and recommendations. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hey Henry,
Looks like a decent build to me. For more render power you'll optimally want something like a RTX 3080, which has over 3 times the performance of your 1080. Though for running both simultaneously you'll have to think about also getting a new PSU which is 1000W or above.
