This is my first build, and I was wondering if it was good. I’m looking to be able to run almost everything processing wise and most games on medium settings graphics wise. Also, I’m curious how it will work for VR. Any thoughts?

At that budget, I'd drop the CPU one tier and go up a tier on the GPU for gaming. Something like a Core i5 12400F would be perfect for the CPU. Stretch the GPU budget as high as you can from the money you save here. At what resolution are you playing, and what games do you usually play?

For VR, I wouldn't go with anything lower than an RTX 3060 to make sure you don't end up with a choppy experience after spending quite a bit of money on the headset.

I’m used to playing on very bad graphics on a laptop with integrated graphics, so anything will be an upgrade, but I think it is 1080p. Right now I play Minecraft and a couple other low demanding games because the laptop has bad specs for everything.

Would an I5-12400F plus a RTX 3060 be a good alternative for a little more money?

How do I know if all of this is compatible?

Never mind, I think I have researched it all, and here is the final list:
Good build, but that CPU cooler is pretty overkill for this CPU tbh. Get something like an Arctic Freezer or Cooler Master Hyper 212, and spend the remaining on more RAM or storage instead (if you don't plan on upgrading your processor anytime soon)
