New PC for Blender Animation

Hello, i am very new to this forum and PCs in general as i have been an Apple user for many years, but i had to sadly realise that Apple+3d is not an option. I have around 7000UK pounds budget and i will be buying in UK. I am not sure whether the AMD Threadtripper Pro is out yet (and its price) or not, i could settle for the Threadtripper 3990x and i would like to have two Nvidia GE-Force RTX 3090 graphic cards. The rest is totally in the clouds. Any suggestion is very welcome. Is this a good moment to buy a PC or will new things come up soon?
Thank you
Roby

If it's high GPU Render Performance in Cycles you're aiming for, the two 3090s of course are excellent. The thing with the 3990X, though, is that it is not the best CPU for active work, because of its low clock speed and single core performance. If you don't need all of those cpu cores, consider going with the 3960X or 3970X which will have higher single core performance and active work speed.

If you are confident of getting 2 x RTX 3090 then maybe go with Ryzen 5800x/5900x/5950x on AM4 Mobo?

Don't quote me, but someone online directly told me that their HX1200W PSU was not able to handle his 2 x RTX3090 GPU based machine, they replaced it with beQuiet 1500W PSU and all was perfect.

Personally I could not decide between HX1200W and beQuiet 1500W PSU for my half finished PC, as I was not sure if I could ever get hold of RTX3090 or vapourware 3080ti and other missing parts, the indecision resulted in both PSUs getting sold out lol

beQuiet 1500W PSU, I am not sure how good it is as a brand and that particular model? It is Titanium rated and has 10 years warranty but expensive!

I second this. You'll be on the safe side with a more powerful PSU. CUDA workloads don't draw a lot of power, but you might run into power spikes that a 1200W PSU might not be able to handle. Corsair ax1600i is my goto PSU for multi-GPU setups.

Because the 3090 runs fine on x8 pcie4 lanes, you can also look into the mainstream platform, such as Ronin mentioned. 5900X, 5950X would get you some higher active work performance in comparison to the threadripper.

The TR 3970X of course is great as well, especially if you plan on adding more GPUs.

thank you all for your replies, very valued.
And sorry for my questions, coming from APPLE i never had to worry about so much about different parts.

What is the difference between ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE RTX 3090, are they all not NVIDIA? prices are all different... is it for different motherboards? thank you

Well, NVIDIA basically supplies the 'chip' or the GPU. Partners like ASUS, MSI, etc. come up with graphics cards using those chips. Prices usually vary according to things like type of cooling solution, overclock levels, and so on.
