Hi all - could someone explain the disadvantages or / major differences between the 3rd Party GeForce cards compared to Nvidia's?

I am interested in a 4090 card for 3D graphic work, and while the "official" NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 still seems impossible to find in stock, places like B&H, Amazon, etc have 4090 cards from MSI, ASUS, etc readily available.

Why is the Nvidia model so much more in demand / and re-selling at such higher prices if they're all basically the same card? Or do they have different benchmarks / speeds?

thank you!

There's not much difference in performance. It's mostly just aesthetics, thermal upgrades, warranty and support, etc. If you can find a Founders Edition, there isn't much reason not to go for that one.

Yep, that's pretty much the norm.

Stocks of NVIDIA's founder's cards have always been quite low, because they can't produce the volumes that AIBs can.
