Hi Alex!
I'm building a new PC for 3d modeling, animation and rendering, and also some video editing of course. My budget is around $4000-4500 (well, it would cost $2500-3000 at most if I was living in US but I think components are a bit pricier here in Turkey, and it's utterly sad :/ Anyway, I've been busy searching through forums and articles last couple of weeks and come up with a possible PC build:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 3.5GHz 16-Core Processor ($950) (already purchased)
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer II 360 ($200) (already purchased)
Motherboard: Asus ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) ($550) or MSI MEG X570 Ace ($480) or MSI Meg Unify ($350) (I was about to order ASUS Hero but the amazon.com 1-star user reviews scared me, so I am now undecided between those three. I am not sure about the quality and VRM capacity of Ace and Unify though)
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 Super for now ($500) and in a couple of months will upgrade it to an Nvidia RTX 3080 ($700-800)
Memory: 128GB (4 x 32GB) Gskill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600Mhz C18 or 3200Mhz C16 ($750) (Do you think any performance difference between these two?)
Storage PCIe-SSD: 2 x Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB NVME M.2 Solid State Drive ($400)
Power Supply: Seasonic Focus Gx-850W or 1000W 80+ Gold Power Supply ($250-300) (I tried both beQuiet! ( https://www.bequiet.com/en/psucalculator ) and Outervision ( https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator )PSU calculators, while be Quiet calculates 950W power usage, outervision results around 750W (both with CPU/GPU OC), so I am confused if 1000W is enough power supply with these specs, what do you think?
Case: Phanteks Evolve X RGB Mid Tower Case ($300) or Cooler Master Mastercase H500P Mid-Tower ($250)
Monitor: Asus 27" Proart WQHD IPS ($500)
Total: around $4500
What do you think about this build and all my concerns? Do you notice any incompatibility issues? I'm open any ideas and I'll appreciate your time and effort!
This site and the forums have been really helpful for me to understand the concept of building a PC, so lots of thanks to you guys!!
My best,
Oxman
