To complete my post :

- What's your Budget? > 3000€
- What are your main workloads and secondary workloads? CAO/CGI (Revit, V-Ray CPU/GPU, Rhino3D) and video/photo
- Are you looking to upgrade the PC in the near future? yes, maybe add some SSD nvme M2 for RAID0 or 1
- What country will you be shopping your parts in? I’m located in France, thus Amazon will be my friend
- Use the PC-Builder Tool first to come up with some build suggestions and post that here to have a good base to discuss :

Looks like a solid build! Both the 3900XT and the 3950x are great CPUs for you use case, the 3950X of course brings 4 additional cores for more renderpower.

You can easily get a B550 Motherboard as long as you will only have a single GPU. With a potential RTX 3080 you should get a strong PSU that still has some headroom for future upgrades. A 750 or 850W PSU would be optimal here. 650W will probably work too, but doesn't leave you with all that much headroom.

Both the bequiet 601 case or the Fractal Design R5 are great and very similar. Both will work fine.

I'd say the 3080 would be a nice addition, but you will probably have some trouble buying it currently with the whole stock stituation.

Hi Alex !

Thanks you very much for your advices ! it’s much appreciate !

if I understand, if I don’t want more than 1 GPU a motherboard with a B550 is enough ? For the PSU it seems right 650W is not enough, a 750W will be fine for sure. The 3950 have my preference because when I want render with CPU it make the difference, the best of two worlds.

Have you an advice for choose a brand for the couple MB and GPU ? It's better to have the same brand for the two ? Or not ?

thanks you Alex for your time !

Hi Alex,

I have search for some parts and I find from MSI the MB B550M PRO-VDH WIFI, what do you think about it ? it seems to be a reliable MB, sober and stiff ?
In conjonction with her GeForce 3080RTX VENTUS 3X 10Go OC It will be a good couple with the AMD ryzen 9 3950X

For the DDR, the G-Skill Trident Z Neo will be fine with the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro ? Or it‘s safre to think about a low profile DDR like Corsair Vengeance LPX ?

Thanks you for your advices,

W.

You don't have to match the brands of the components, they work just as well when you mix them. Your GPU and Motherboard choices look good, though take a look at our B550 Article here to be absolutely sure: https://www.cgdirector.com/best-b550-motherboards/

The MSI B550 A-Pro is not a good fit for the 3950X, but the Gigabyte B550M Aorus PRo or the MSI B550 Tomahawk are excellent in combination with the 3950X.

The TridentZ Neo will fit with the Dark Rock Pro 4, you'll probably just have to move the outer fan up a bit.

PS. Nvidia just released much more powerful GPUs and will likely release more soon, and AMD is also announcing new CPUs on 8th Oct. Better to wait if at all possible.

Do wait for benchmarks before we can be sure enough to make a recommendation :) But it looks like the RTX 3080 and the Ryzen 9 5950X would be the best choices for you!
