PC Build for C4D / Octane

Hello,

Today I received a quote form my local computer store regarding a PC build for C4D & Octane / Redshift. Could someone let me know if they think this well be a solid build? A fast viewport in Octane / Redshift is important to me. It would also be great to be able to render as well. I would also like to build upon this rig as I grow with it.

Here are the parts he set me up with. I tried to stay as close to the build this website suggests but they don't deal with some of the manufactures. Do you see anything that might cause compatibility issues or possibly a better configuration? My budget is about 3K Canadian. I will be sure to price match everything once I'm ready to go.

-RyzenTM 9 3900X Processor, 3.8GHz w/ 70MB Cache
-B550 VISION D w/ DDR4-5200 O.C., 7.1 Audio, Dual M.2, Gigabit LAN, Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, Crossfire
-Trident Z NEO Series 64GB DDR4-3600 CL18 Dual Channel RAM Kit (2x 32GB)
-Western Digital - ABlack SN750 NVMe SSD M.2 PCI-E x4, 1TB
-GeForce RTX2070 Super KO GAMING 8GB PCI-E w/ HDMI, Triple DP
-RM850 Gold Fully Modular 80+ Gold ATX Power Supply, 850W
-Windows 10 Pro - (is pro needed or should I stick with Home?)
- Fractal Design Define / 7 Compact Mid Tower ATX Case w/ Light Tint Tempered Glass, Black
-Cooler Master / Hyper 212 Black Edition CPU Cooler

I will have a lot of time on my hands over the next two months and I really want to broaden my skills as a 3D artist. I would like to stay with Apple but my cash flow is not great right now and I don't have time to wait to see what their new lineup looks like since my free time will be in Sept / Oct. I have also been told NVIDIA will have some new graphics cards coming out soon, but once again I don't really have time to wait.

Thanks,

BK

Looks like a solid build to me that will perform nicely in C4D with Octane and Redshift. Windows Home is fine, there really aren't any features in Pro that a 3D Artist working from home would need.

Thanks everyone!

I still have not put my order in.... going to do it later today. I have spent a lot of time researching this and trying to understand everything. I have updated my build just bit and of course I ended up going a bit over budget. Originally it was just over 3K with tax and now with a monitor it is just over 4k.

You can see it my build here. I ended up going with a better power supply and cooler. I also needed a bigger case and switched up the storage. I plan on using a 500GB SSD boot drive, 1000gb SSD for working files and a 4TB drive backup that is linked with Dropbox.

The other big change was adding a monitor to the quote. I decided on the Asus ProArt Display PA278QV. This was not apart of my original quote.

I'm coming from a 4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 / AMD Radeon R9 M395 2 GB on a 5K iMac so really hope this will blow me away. Wish me luck...
