PC for 3d concept art using Blender, and Unreal

I wanted to build a pc that has fast gpu rendering in cycles, but is also good for evee and unreal. additionally I want good highpoly modeling and sculpting in blender. I chose the gpu rendering configuration on the site is this build going to gimp the modeling side?

Hey Chris,
Yes that GPU focused build will have sub-par performance for active workloads. Also Eevee or unreal will not use multiple gpus for rendering. You should rather focus on a high clocking cpu and a single strong gpu.

Thanks for the response. I understand your point about unreal and evee I am wondering if there is away to expand this build to also include faster render times with cycles. I spend a lot of time iterating on lighting with cycles in the viewport and am looking to speed up that workflow as well. I was thinking having multiple GPUs would help with that. I am looking to spend around 3500.

What about something like this? Would the 3950x be better still? Seams like this processor would be close, but there would be room to add additional 2080s in the future. Also at this point should I wait for the new nvidia line that is about to be announced?

Yes if you are also looking to do gpu rendering then an HEDT system is indeed the way to go for future expansion possibilities. The Build you listed is a good option that can be expanded up to 4 gpus if needed! :)

As the announcement is today I'd say it's good to wait for that at least, but official benchmarks will take a little longer to surface.
