Hi Guys and Girls,

I am getting into Premiere Pro and thus decided that I really should buy an nvidia GPU to take advantage of the hardware acceleration. Prices being what they are right now, I am trying to decide between 2 Cards, and I'm asking for your advice if the Second Option would really be worth the extra dollars when specifically considering Premiere:

1. ASUS GeForce GTX 1660 Ti TUF Gaming EVO TOP Edition OC 6GB - $679.00 (AU)

2. ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 Overclocked 6G GDDR6 Dual-Fan EVO Edition (DUAL-RTX2060-O6G-EVO) - $728 (AU)

Would really appreciate your help and by all means suggest any alternatives if they come to mind.

Cheers,

M

Since Premiere Pro does not make use of raytracing cores, I'd say the second option would not make it worth your while. For GPU Rendering, yes, but not for hardware encoding or effects speed-up.

Thanks Alex!

Well, as it turned out, I got a welcome boost to my budget. Since it was a week to my Birthday, my partner stepped in with some assistance and since I do a little gaming too, I went with the 2060 for $728.00 (AU).

Nevertheless I still winced a little when I checked the price today $685.00!!

But this is good news on the whole - prices are coming down rapidly it seems. A while ago this card reached a little over a thousand dollars. I believe - before "The Tribulations", over here it was $550.00 or so.

Thanks for your advice, which would have been dead right as things were.
