Possible to run CPU at lower level for low priority renders?

My build is more of a workstation than a render machine. I still use render farms for final outputs.

To save a bit of cash I've been thinking about doing to do low-res draft renders overnight, but I'm scared of the overusing my machine. I hope to be using it as a workstation for a few years and am concerned about the wear-tear that 24-48h of rendering per week would have on it.

Is there a way to run the CPU at 70% instead of 100% overnight? Are my fears of over-using my machine even founded?

Hardware: Intel Core I9-9900K with be quiet! Dark Rock 4 and Asus WS Z390 PRO (Arnold CPU renders)

As long as you don't overclock your cpu, you should be pretty safe. The i9 9900k too has some automatic temperature limits that it will not exceed, even when rendering. Those limits should keep the damage from your cpu.
