Speculative question: will a dual 4090 system be possible?

I know this is highly speculative right now, but I want to speculate.

Given that the 4090 is looking to be a HUGE card, in both physical size and energy consumption, how likely is it that a dual 4090 system (in a tower) is going to be possible? Would a 1600W PSU cover both cards? Are there mobos that could do it now, or will new mobo designs need to come out to accommodate them?

We're due to build a lot of 2x3090 machines in the next year, and now I'm wondering whether 2x4090 machines might be possible instead (a man can dream)...

Power draw is going to be crazy. While CUDA Workloads don't usually draw max Power, there'll be plenty of spikes that'll crash your PC. Undervolting, power limits, higher PSU wattage, all options, but out of the box, I feel like the entire GPU development is going the wrong direction currently with ever higher power draws.

1600W minus ~250w for the rest of the PC. 1350W for two 4090s? I'm not sure it'll work. Might need 2000W minimum for dual.
