Switching from Mac: Designer and After Effects animator getting into C4D & Octane

Hey all,

So grateful a community like this exists for long time PC holdouts like myself ( I should have known better than to think the new Mac Pro would be the answer to my computing prayers). I am an animation director that works primarily in After Effects, doing a range of styles, I'm also entering into the 3rd dimension and want a serious setup for designing and animating in C4D/ Octane, maybe something that can be updated later if I get really into it (like 2x GPUs?). Secondarily, I also work across the creative cloud in Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro as well as producing music in Ableton Live with an external audio interface. I have an Apple Cinema display (mini display port, not Thunderbolt) that I wouldn't mind using a little while longer if possible.

Budget is ~$4,500. Here's what I've put together so far, appreciate any thoughts or flags.
I know the CPU and GPU are impossible to find at MSRP right now, but I'm no rush and don't mind waiting it out for a bit if it means getting a more future proof machine at a decent price!

Hey Joe,
Wow, love your parts and see no issues! Keep in mind that to be able to upgrade to a second GPU down the line, you would need an x570 mother and not b550. Something like the MSI Unify x570 will do the trick. You'll also need a stronger PSU for 2 GPUs, so best to get that now. 1000W would be good.

Thanks for the insights Alex, much appreciated, and this site has been an amazing resource!
The 2 GPU motherboard compatibility was confusing to me, so that is super helpful to know.
Since I'm relatively new to 3D I may just stick with this build and skip the ability to add a second GPU any time soon, in favor of a machine that would run a little quieter and cooler, which I'm guessing is the case?

Definitely! GPUs do add a lot of heat and noise :)
