Upgrading a 2 year Old Adobe AE system

Hi there!
I would love advice on upgrading my 2 year old AE System:

The Build:
Fractal meshify C Case
Thermalake 850w Toughpower 80GF1
MSI X299 SLI PLus mobo
Intel I7 7820X
MSI GTX 1080 8GB
Corsair 64gb ram 3000C15v
Corsair H115I Cooler
1 samsung 500gb ssd 860 evo
1 samsung 250gb 870 evo m.2
2x toshiba 8Tb Sata HD mirrored

I was thinking of upgrading:
Intel i9 9900k 3.6GHz 8-Core Processor
Nvidia RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB – MSI Gaming X

Based on that, what can I keep from my old build to make this new build.
Definitely the Cooler and power supply.
Do I need to upgrade the Motherboard and ram?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Best

You should be able to keep the PSU, Case, all you storage devices, RAM, and even the cpu cooler but will need a Motherboard + CPU upgrade. You can keep your GPU too, but if you want a faster one, can upgrade this.

I would recommend getting a 5xxx series Ryzen CPU, as these are a lot faster in all workloads (e.g. a 5900X). Also, if possible, go ahead and buy a current gen RTX GPU, such as the RTX 3070, which are a lot faster than RTX 20xx series gpus. The pricing should be very similar.

The hard part is to find those two in stock :)

Cheers,
Alex

You're good to go with a new MB and CPU, however most of the newer chipsets only have 4 ram slots instead of 8, so if you are using all 8 slots on your 399, you will have to settle for 32GB until you upgrade your ram chips.
