...my funds came in, and I got a little more than I was expecting, so I upped my game a little. But now I'm committed; most of it has been ordered, and some has already arrived:

AMD 5900 series CPU (Probably a 5950, but we'll see when they come out in 2 weeks)
Gigabyte B550 Vision D Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 64GB (4x16) Memory
2x Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB NVME Drives
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 Super 8GB Video Card
Corsair iCUE 4000X Mid Tower Case
4x Corsair LL120 Fans
Corsair H100i RGB Platinum SE CPU Cooler
Corsair HX1200I Platinum PSU
Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 SE Wired Keyboard
Corsair M65 RGB Elite Wired Optical Mouse
BenQ PD3200U 32.0” 3840x2160 60Hz Monitor

I'm also getting a NAS for permanent archive storage. The 2080 card is to hold me over until the Nvidia 3000 series cards become available. I'm doing my work in Daz3d, so Iray - so more CUDA cores will be nice.

Stuck with Corsair stuff so that the drivers for stuff will all go through one program, and I won't have driver bloat.

Looking forward to starting the build - just need to wait for a couple more things to arrive, and then for the new AMD chips to drop.

Looks great! Have fun :)

Curious: What NAS are you thinking of getting? With 10GBe support?

I think a Synology DS220+... my motherboard doesn’t have 10GBe, so I’m not necessarily looking for it, but the 220 has two Ethernet ports so I can get some more bandwidth that way (as so does my motherboard)... they’re going to be connected with a Netgear 8-port switch (along with my Mac mini, work computer, and the uplink)
