The front panel cables are well done, and the tiny one-off front panel connections are a thing of the past! It's not just one more plug very similar to HD audio into the motherboard. That was a very pleasant improvement and saves a few minutes by itself. The USB was new to me, but very simple. I liked that the cable was capped. The included front panel fan was well situated and I had plenty of cable length to route everything exactly how I wanted.
There is a well-designed bay near the front, kind of underneath by the PSU. This is for the 3.5" hard drives or for 2.5" drives with adapters. It was great to use for including my old HDD data drives from yester-year!
I truly had fun building my PC's into this case. I have already highly recommended this to other builders. It's really a pleasure!
Note: 2 of my cases were the RGB version. The RGB is great because of the 3 x 120mm fans in front, but the drawback is that more cable management is required. HOWEVER, this case REALLY provides great features for cable management in those built-in straps. Also, zip-ties are included if desired!
Things I like:
- Easy to remove all panels, no screw driver necessary.
- Mine came with 4 fans including 3 in the front (RGB) and 1 in the back (exhaust, not RGB). I saved some $$'s not having to buy extra fans
- Plenty of room for cable management, allows a clean build
- Just enough connectors on the case (headphone jack, 2 USB A and 1 USB C)
There is also plenty of room for SSD drives and other accessories, but I don't plan on using anything else at this point.
Let's talk about who this case is for. It's not a budget case. This is definitely a mid-tier enthusiast case, at this price point. It is going to be best enjoyed by someone who plans to buy their own fans, and the ditch the included fans. This case would be a great option to show off your RGB components, though I think it looks just fine without it, if that isn't your cup of tea.
I opted for the White/Black version, which I think makes for some of the best looking builds, and I personally love the contrasting parts throughout the entire build. Both the front and top of the case are well ventilated, and both have filters. I opted to remove my top filter, as it isn't necessary for my top mount radiator setup, or exhaust fans in general. The modularity and fitment design of the case is wonderful overall, and it was a complete pleasure to build in. The wire management channels and velcro ties are well thought out, and effective at controlling the wiring on the backside. There is a good amount of space to work in, both inside the case, and below the power supply shroud from the back. If using power supply extensions, you will have to take your time, as the space between the motherboard tray and the back panel is fairly narrow.
In terms of included hardware, NZXT seems to changed up what is included in their hardware box. For example there is no longer a Y-adapter for headphones/mic to be used with the dual headphone/mic jack on the top of the case. Oddly enough, they do throw you an extra 2.5" drive bracket though. The hardware is pretty good and I think it offers a good value to the buyer.
Again, the case does offer 360mm radiator support for both the top or front of the case. If you want to make a radiator sandwich though (push+pull fans), your only option will be to front mount it, as there isn't enough room for two sets of fans along the top. I opted to top mount mine, and set my fans in "push" below the radiator, and I'm very pleased with the results. I'll note that my build has 7 case fans, plus the 3 fans on my GPU. My build is incredibly quiet.
If you do decide to front mount your 360mm AIO, you'll almost certainly have to mount it "tubes up," which contrary to the internet hype, is totally fine and won't hurt anything. In this first build, I liked the presentation of the top mount and the tubes didn't need to do any crazy bends to make it fit.
I chose to mount my GPU vertically, strictly for aesthetic reasons. However, I didn't go with NZXT's vertical GPU mount. Instead I chose the Phanteks PCIe 4.0 model, mostly because it was over $20 cheaper, and also because it has mesh across the unused space on the rear part bracket. The new NZXT mount as solid, with no mesh, at a jaw-dropping $90 US. The Phanteks vertical mount also doesn't require any modification to your case, as it did with previous cases like the H510 (which required cutting of the slot dividers). Securing it by lining up the set screws required some patience and good lighting though. Overall, I think it turned out great.
Personally, I liked the previous design of the hard drive cage in the H510. It was completely adjustable, and easily supported three 3.5" drives, not just two. Also the H7 HDD cage is secured by four slide-lock feet and a single captive thumbscrew. This is an issue because there are essentially only two positions you can have the hard drive cage in.
There are some other compromises as well. One of them is that at this case height, push+pull radiator setup isn't possible with a top mount setup. Also the length of this case would make dual 360mm AIOs (one top + one front) virtually impossible as the tubes would potentially fight for real estate. This might not matter if you are doing a custom loop though.
I do have a real gripe about my example. My hard drive cage was drilled wrong. The top slot of the cage had the holes drilled slightly out of spec, so the holes didn't line up properly with the hard drive. I needed to move my HDD cage farther forward to provide additional room for my PSU cables. This would have been fine, except the other hole was threaded wrong, and the thumbscrew wanted to go in at an angle and siezed up. I was able to remove the captive thumbscrew and use another thumbscrew, this time from the bottom of the case, and I was able to rememdy this. Even though I was able to work around this issue, they were super annoying to experience, having bought into this case at a $130 price tag. I was able to work through it because I am an experienced builder, with lots of spare parts. A newcomer might be less thrilled than me with this scenario.
These speedbumps are typical for a new product, but are no less frustating admidst what is otherwise a near-perfect case, in my opinion. NZXT clearly needs to clean up their tooling or QC on this model, to make sure the customer recieves a quality product, like the ones NZXT is known for making. Aside from these little issues, I think the fit and finish otherwise are excellent. I'm fairly certain this H7 Flow will be an instant hit for PC enthusiasts, and I predict it to be successful enough to get a "version 2" down the road.
If you are thinking about buying it, I think you'll be really pleased with it. The photos are very good representations of what you're actually going to receive.

This is a decent well built and sturdy mid-tower case. I find it a little on the expensive side and it is definitely heavier than my old PC case. If you are an old PC user transitioning to a modern case, you will immediately find out that the entire front panel area is replaced with fans. There is no more support for optical drives (CD-ROM/DVD/BR, etc.) - Don't worry, this is not an issue, you can still use your optical drives using Vantec's optical to USB enclosures and they work great.
This case features a perforated top and front panel with a glass side panel. If you want easy and quick access to these panels, you will be happy to know that access to the front and side panels is tool-less, just pull and snap off the panels.
The RGB version comes preinstalled with 3 x front F140 RGB Core fans & 1 x rear exhaust F120Q Quiet Airflow fan (no rgb). In my opinion, the included fans do a decent enough job. Some people may want to replace these with their own fans, but so far, these fans work great for me. My system is an i5-13600k + RTX 4070 OC, and my temperatures are very decent. The 3 RGB fans are already connected to splitters, so all you need to do is connect the ARGB 5V end to your motherboard (make sure to use the right pins, this is only for 5V ARGB!). Another connector goes to your motherboard's chasis fan connector. All 3 of those front fans will be controlled through the single connector. Do not worry about the 3 fans on the same connector, your fan connectors should support up to 1A (make sure to confirm with your motherboard manual). Do not forget to plug the rear fan to your motherboard as well.
I have tested the fans in different profiles anywhere from quit to full speed (1200rpm) and so far I have no complaints - whether at low speed or high I did not come across any whining or unpleasant noise - they are relatively quiet. On the higher speeds you can hear them more, but it is the air movement, it is soft and not anywhere near as noisy as some other fans.
The case offers good management of your cables, leaving them all on one side of the cable and on the other side, your motherboard and its components, with enough holes so you can pass the cables through easily from the other side or from below.
This case comes included with 2 top mounted USB 3.2 type A ports and one type C port along with an illuminated power switch and a headphone audio jack. Personally I would have preferred the USB connectors placed on the side as with my old case, but eventually I got used to the top placement.
I like that the case offers several fan configurations - such as up to 3 front 120mm or 140mm fans and up to 3 x 120 or 2 x 140mm top fans and of course 1x 120mm or 140mm for the rear.
For cable management it is decent enough with its wide channels, hooks, & straps. This case has included 2 mounts for 2.5 drives and a bay for 3.5 drives. In the same area below the case, on one side, you have the power supply area. Since I am not using 3.5 hard drives and only SSDs, I remove the drive bay from the bottom to free up more space as the cables coming out of the power supply occupy a lot of space below, even when using fully modular ones.
This case has dust filters on all its intakes including the bottom where the power supply sits. These filters can easily be removed.
What I do not like about this case, the manual, some instructions include only pictures and can be confusing for those who use this type of case for the first time, the instructions could be more complete and better written. You will notice that one of the standoffs in the case is higher than the rest and has no hole, it took me a while to figure out this was normal and used to align the motherboard. Normally this area is a hole on old generation PC cases where you would place a screw in.
Overall this is a well built PC case with enough space for the most demanding cooling and I highly recommend.
