🚀 First PC, doubts around CPU, Graphic Cards and Case (C4d, AE, Octane)

Hey,

I am looking to build my first PC in the next few weeks. I spent the weekend looking at some of the fantastic articles you posted and now I am looking for some specific recommendations. I am an interaction designer with a focus on immersive technology and storytelling. I use C4D, Octane, After Effects, sometimes Unity. I am looking for a new PC to speed up my workflow. I am really new to this and I really need your advice. My main concerns are around CPU and Graphci Cards but please feel free to share your thoughts about the overall config.

I like the parts you picked so far! It really depends on your budget, but of course, the 5950X is better than the 5900X, which in turn is better than the 5800X.

Beware that the CPU you listed in your first post is a TR4 Cooler, meaning it's only compatible with a Threadripper CPU. You'll need the non-TR4 Dark Rock pro 4 if you decide to get this Cooler.

You'll need an Nvidia GPU if you intend to use Octane. AMD is not supported. So swap that 6800XT for a RTX 3070 or RTX 3080 if you can find one in stock.

The rest of the parts look great! If you have some cash left over, do think about getting more RAM. You'll be thankful for 32GB, especially when working with After Effects.
