Hi All,
First time PC builder/Full-time Industrial Designer here looking to build up a PC to run Rhino 3D + Vray Hybrid rendering along with PS, Indesign and Autocad.
I'd say 75% 3D work + 2D CAD and Adobe/ 25% Rendering.
Canada based, and looking to keep this under CAD $2500 or $1800 USD if possible.
Hoping to get thoughts or suggestions for the build below:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700X - $414.99 (May bite the bullet and go w/ the 3900X for about $200 more)
CPU cooler: Noctua NH-U12S - $79.95
GPU: Geforce RTX 3070 - $659 (Fingers crossed I can get one when they are released this Thursday! Recommendations for the interim?)
MB: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard - $263.50
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 - $209.99 (Tempted to go to 64gb over 4 modules but 32 works in my circa 2011 system w/ no problems)
SSD #1 OS: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive - $129.99 (Is a PCIE 4.0 drive advantageous for my OS and programs?)
SSD #2 File Storage: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive - $299.99 (Would normally go w/ a Samsung 860 but this is cheaper and good reviews)
PSU: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Platinum 750 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply - $164.75 (Build is currently around 405W, and want to include headroom for an additional GPU down the road. Maybe go w/ 850W, especially if I go w/ the 3900X?)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case - $79.50 (Nothing fancy which is great, and it seems that everything should fit, but airflow is potentially a question...)
Monitor(s): Will be using dual Acer setup I currently run, no cost.
Total build not including shipping and tax - CAD $2301.66
Thanks in advance for any help you're able to provide!
