hello everyone, I'm planning to buy an RTX 2060 super for my rendering works using lumion and corona and also for playing games. however, my budget are limited to spend for higher memory size. could you please give me idea which are better for the size if i choose 6gb it will not affect the performance of my rendering? or shall i go for 8gb but its much expensive than 6gb?.

thank you all!.

Hey Kaypee,
Note, that, apart from denoising, Corona is entirely cpu-bound, meaning you won't see any kind of performance difference when using different kind of GPUs.

Lumion is a realtime render engine (kind of like a game engine) which can make good use of extra VRAM in complex scenes. But here too, you will only see a difference between a 6gb and a 8gb vram GPU if the scene you are rendering is complex enough to need more than 6gb of vram. If it does not, you won't see any kind of difference, from the different vram sizes alone.

Of course, a GPU with 8gb of vram will usually also have higher clocks, more cuda cores and so on, so that will be the reason it will be faster. As far as I know there are only 8gb vram versions of the 2060 super.
