Hi,

I have a guy that is trying to sell a fully built new PC with the following specs for $1750. I have ran the numbers and it seems like a good deal but some other people are telling me its not. Is this a good deal or no? I plan on doing 4k/5k video editing and some light gaming.

-Windows 11 pro
-Asus ROG crosshair visit (8) hero motherboard
-Ryzen 9 3900x 12core/24 thread
-32gb ddr4 corsair vengeance rgb
-NEW Samsung 1tb 980 pro gen4 nvme 7100mb/s
-NEW Samsung 2tb 870 evo ssd 600mb/s
-New Corsair 280mm platinum aio cooler
-Corsair crystal 680x case -Corsair RM1000X 1000w power supply
-EVGA RTX-2080-TI FTW3 11GB Graphics.

It seems like an okay deal (not amazing, not bad). The motherboard is decent enough for you to upgrade to a Ryzen 5000 CPU, but then that's added cost. You could probably build a new machine at a similar budget without losing any performance, but you'd gain a better upgrade path down the line.

Thank you for the advice. I did put together my own setup with current parts. Would this be good enough to edit 4/5k video and light gaming?

I would switch to Nvidia for video editing because RTX does help with performance quite a bit. Even an RTX 3060 is faster than that Radeon card in Premiere. Other than that, looks good. You could also hunt around for a better deal on a Core i7 13700K too, I've found them pretty close to the 12700K price point in my region.
