You should be fine with the generated build from our PC Builder -

CGDirector.com Parts List: https://www.cgdirector.com/pc-builder/?=6LCiw

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 3.5GHz 16-Core Processor ($709.99)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 ($89.90)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC ATX AM4 ($179.00)
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB - MSI Gaming X ($744.99)
Memory: 32GB (2 x 16GB) G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 C16 ($176.99)
Storage PCIe-SSD: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 1TB M.2 Solid State Drive ($161.99)
Power Supply: Corsair CX Series CX550M 550W ATX 2.4 Power Supply ($79.79)
Case: NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case ($159.84)
Total: $2302.49

That said, keep in mind that the Nvidia RTX 3070 and the Ryzen 9 5950X will offer better performance at the same prices. They're supposed to be releasing in November, so if you can wait a month, I'd recommend it :)

I second Jerry's answer. To add, a PC will always perform better than a Laptop at the same price range, especially for demanding content creation tasks such as Autodesk Maya. You should really only get a Laptop if mobility is of any concern to you.
