Pre-build vs Build your own?

I'm looking for a new pc and my previous ones were all pre-build.

Mainly used for 3d design, and (realtime) rendering (Rhino 3D), indesign and Photoshop (Adobe).
I usually work in multiple programs at the same time.

These are the specs for the pre-build:
  • Intel Core i9-10900 (10 Core, 20M cache, base 2.8GHz, up to 5.2GHz) DDR4-2933
  • 64GB 2X32GB DDR4 2666MHz or 2933MHz
  • 512GB PCIe Class 40 M.2 SSD
  • NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000, 6GB, 4 mDP
  • Windows 10 Pro, 64bit English
  • Precision 3240 Compact Chassis

What is your opinion about the specs?
& What would be the reason to opt for a build your own?

Regards Ed

Hey Ed,
Those are decent specs, but you can probably do better, especially if you build yourself. Building yourself lets you save quite some money. Have you taken a look at the current gen ryzen 5000 series cpus and current gen nvidia trx 3000 series gpus? Those would be perfect for your kind of workloads.

Thx again Alex,
I'm completely new in the build your own world.
I do understand I will get more for the same €€ but don't know if it's hard to build your own?

I will certainly check out your suggestions; Ryzen 5000 and nvidia trx300 series and use your Custom PC-builder as a start.

Thx I will do.

I checked the 2nd generation Nvidia RTX 3070/3080/3090 earlier and liked the specs but sadly it was not available in the pre-build configuration.
there's also rumors about the 3060 Ti

I thought trx was a newer serie but you were talking about the same series ;)

The entire RTX 3000 series is extremely difficult to find in stock right now. Most likely the 3060ti will be similar.
