Ram for my computer

I have 8 GB of ram on my MSI GF63 thin I am thinking about either upgrading to 16 by adding 8 or buying 16 and having 24 and the ram That I want to buy is the crucial laptop memory I am wondering if these options would work, and which one is better.

It's best to not mix and match RAM brands, clocks, capacities or latencies to reduce risk of incompatibility. If you upgrade (add another module of 8gb) be sure you buy the exact same kind. You can check your current RAM specs e.g. with CPU-Z.
