I'm just looking to get the parts for around 800 dollars, so would this be fine for gaming? I'm not looking for a super high end build

Not ideal, but good enough to start in this market I'd say. The graphics cards are insanely costly so this budget isn't exactly a great starting point. You should budget a bit higher (~$100) to at least get a Ryzen CPU like a 3600.
