I want to build a desktop for cinema 4d

Hi , I’m a total newbie to cinema 4d. After installing it on my high end MacBook I realized after such a slow viewport , crashing and freezing my expensive Mac is not up to the task, even though has 33g ram I believe a lot more is required like a decent graphics card and briefly reading incompatible issues with Mac. I am very much interested in learning cinema 4d I was fascinated with animations and making some motion stuff but not already an idea of what area would like to go in. All I was doing is following tutorials and trying to learn. Any recommendations for a pc desktop? I would like to spend under 1500 years building is not to difficult and can save lots of money. I would like a decent set up which will help me progress and not lag in the viewpoint. I got this from pc

That's a great build for Cinema 4D. Do note that for some 3rd party render engines you might need an nvidia GPU, but seeing that you're starting out, you can stick with the in-built render capabilities of Cinema 4D, and the AMD 5700XT will perform nicely in those.

The CPU is mainly responsible for your viewport snappiness, and the 3800X is about as fast as it gets in terms of clock-speeds with AMD's CPU offerings. Of course there is always the option to go intel 10th gen (e.g. 10700K, 10900K) but these cpus are so new that they are extremely difficult to come by currently and still have very inflated prices.

Thanks for your reply. Just a quick follow up question if you don't mind please.- If i wanted to change the case to a colorful one for example would there be anything i would need to be aware of, or just make sure it was a big tower case? Would i also need additional fans with this setup or the list if everything i would need? Additionally i was trying maya as well and i have the arnold render with the package, would i be able to use this? Would you say its better to go for a nvidia GPU from the start and is there much of a cost difference? I was really excited when i installed these programs on my mac and then lost motivation after the series of very bad lags. I would like a decent desktop within my price budget of below $1500 and hoping this will fit and not suffer any freezes and what not.

Your Motherboard is ATX, so even a mid-sized Tower will be big enough. No need for a big-tower. Case fans usually come with the case, so you won't need to get any additional ones.

I'd say going with an Nvidia GPU is a safer bet in the 3d / rendering industry, as with nvidia you know it will be supported by much more plugins and engines than with AMD (unfortunately this is still the case)

So you could also take a look at a RT 2060 super or 2070 super, which should be priced around what the 5700xt would cost.

For just plain old viewport performance without any gpu rendering, both amd and nvidia are about on par and should be similarly stable without any freezes. But you never know for sure 100%

Thanks again so if i went with the RT 2060 super or 2070 super there be no Compatability issues with the rest of setup. Then my next challenge will be putting it together.. i did fix my ps4 overheating issues by taking it apart and fixing the heat sink problem. So hopefully if i follow another guide it should be just like lego.. Price wise looks a lot better choice to build though for what i be getting.
